I started Pics in the Pit as an experiment to see if photos taken on a cell phone could perform just as well as photos taken on a professional camera in the context of social media. Using only my Google Pixel, I built the Pics in the Pit Instagram account to over 6,000 followers with an average of 200-300 likes per post.
Today, we have over 10,000 followers on Instagram alone and still get a great engagement rate. On top of maintaining our social media accounts, I also manage over 15 contributing photographers and writers from across the United States.
